As Video Production Manager at Twitch, one of the biggest projects I was in charge of was the main stage broadcast for TwitchCon. Since the first convention in 2014, I’ve been central to the planning and execution of the primary live stream for each one. From sourcing stage construction companies to managing the internal team in charge of creative production, this was one of the biggest jobs we could take on.

A creative and technical first for Twitch, we staged an augmented reality game live in real time over the TwitchCon stage. By using state of the art camera tracking tech, Twitch’s newly released “Extensions” funcionality and proprietary software, we were able to let people play a live video game together that appeared to hover - 60 feet tall - over the stage. Viewers at home as well as people in the crowd on cell phones were all able to play together. So long as you could see the live stream on our site or in our app, you could play.
